I'm back at Mum and Dad's now after the toughest week of my life (physically speaking). But I did it. I got to the top of the highest mountain in Africa. And I did it for you Judy. My girl.
As I was nearing the Stella point just below the summit and just before sunrise there was a moment when I thought I could not make it any further. But up ahead I heard a guide say something. He said "Judy, Judy". At least that is what it sounded like to me. And it spurred me on. When we reached Stella point the sun broke over the horizon and the clouds parted. Many people reach this point in the dark or when it is very cloudy and they don't see anything. But I felt as though you had made it clear for us, so that we could have the most spectacular views all the way to the summit. It was breathtaking.
